Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act

A practical explanation of the duties of the employer under the COIDA

Use your newfound understanding of the COID Act to ensure that your workplace deals effectively with occupational injuries and diseases, and meets both the best interests of the employer and employee.

The Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA) regulates compensation for injuries and occupational diseases in the workplace and places very specific duties on the employer when dealing with a workplace injury or death.

In addition to these duties, employers are also often faced with questions from employees such as what benefits they will receive, who is responsible for the medical treatment, how sick leave works and who pays for transport to and from the doctor.

A practical explanation of the duties of the employer under the COIDA

  • Which are the main forms to complete and submit?
