Secretaries and administrative assistants perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties necessary to run an organization efficiently and as the reliance on technology continues to expand in offices, the role of the office professional has greatly evolved. They serve as information and communication managers for an office; plan and schedule meetings and appointments; prepare agendas, organize and maintain paper and electronic files; manage projects; conduct research; and disseminate information. | Ms Elmarie Pretorius obtained a BA degree in Communications from the University of Potchefstroom and started her career as Public Relations Officer for Toyota Marketing. She held various marketing positions and steadily climbed the corporate ladder. At the age of 34 she was appointed Managing Director of Primedia Publishing, a position she held for 3 years, before accepting the challenge of CEO of Cinemark.

| TWO DAY WORKSHOP OUTLINE |
This two day workshop will deal one on one with the delegates, utilising not only theoretical tools but focusing strongly on practical examples and exercises, whilst at the same time utilising real issues to demonstrate improved efficiencies in dealing with their responsibilities and workload, effective verbal and written communication skills and enhanced skills in dealing with conflict and difficult situations.
They will have a clear understanding of their key role in the organisation and how their improved skills in assisting their bosses and teams can be used to work together towards achieving the goals of the business.
The workshop will enable them to manage their workload better, improve their skills at working under pressure, assist them to deal with demanding and difficult customers (internal and external to the business) and overall increase their efficiencies as secretaries. |
