| MASTER THE ART AND SCIENCE OF BUSINESS ENGLISH |
Both educationalists and researchers report that literacy levels and English competency are reducing rapidly.
Unlike with a skill, such as shorthand or Microsoft Excel mastery (progress in which is noticeable day by day), progress with English is not immediately apparent when you are trying hard to improve your language skill. It is difficult to obtain improvement results that can be measured in the short term, as English, like any language, is absorbed over many years of usage.
Due to both historical problems with education in our country and the continuing decline in the standard of education generally, many employees require additional English instruction and the correction of errors. Most unfortunate is that many people do not even realise how poor their English language skill is.
It requires assistance in order to improve competence and it may sometimes seem that English is a language that defies all logic and which proves extremely difficult to grasp. However, continuous, dedicated effort over many years will provide the required results.
This two-day course will provide some assistance with the improvement of English used in the working environment. It focuses on the underlying fundamentals of correct English, whilst ensuring all content is typical of the working world. The course is a practical, participative course that is constructed around exercises carefully designed to ensure real learning by attendees and relevance to the world of work.
The workshop will help employees at all levels of the organisation to improve their level of competence with English typically used in a working environment.
Please note: This is not an ABET course. It is pitched at an NQF 4 home language level and is therefore not suitable for those who have only a most basic or rudimentary ability in English. |
